Auxiliaries & Ministries

Auxiliaries & Ministries

The Auxiliary Ministries are secondary bodies of leaders, given authority within the Church’s Covenant and By-Laws that are established for moral, educational, and benevolent purposes. Auxiliary ministries are subordinate to the leadership and guidance of the Pastor. The auxiliary ministries are organized into five principle categories: (1) the primary focus and development of the church; (2) community service; (3) Sunday School: (4) young men; (5) and young women.

The existence of the church auxiliary ministries as a means of assisting the Pastor and his ministerial staff is based on the Apostle Paul's statement that “God has established "helpers" and "governments" in the church to assist the apostles and prophets who lead the church.” (I Corinthians 12:28). An auxiliary ministry is to be an aid to the Pastor and his ministerial staff in watching over the Church and its congregation and also to be an aid to families and communities, under the direction of the Pastor and his ministerial and Deacon Staff. The purpose of the auxiliary ministries is to help plant and grow the testimony of Christ and of the Gospel, through the things we do and say. Church auxiliary ministries are temporary organizations which may be created and discontinued as the needs of the church and the Pastor’s vision change.

In the church, there are no “little U’s and big I’s”, when it comes to the Ministries and Auxiliaries of the church. Each one is as important as the next in the rolls in which they are assigned. No leadership roll should be accepted on for a name. The duties of the position must be fulfilled.

As Leaders and Members of Auxiliaries, if we live long enough, our vision should be to see when every Auxiliary understands its duty; assume and execute its own responsibilities, magnify its calling, and fill its place in the Church, to the uttermost, according to the direction and guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, as well as those leaders appointed over us. When that day shall come, there will not be so much necessity for work that is now being done by the auxiliary ministries, because it will continue in accordance with the foundations already laid by those active Auxiliary Ministry leaders now as we put it in the hands of the congregation and community.
